La cochi muchi workshop in The carribean

In the begining of this year I  started planning my new calendar production in Mexico, the caribbean part. Here in the heart of The riviera maya I run my own, fully equiped  photostudio www.sluka-workshop.com .

When all the production was arranged, there was a phone call from a dutch client, who was very interested to buy for himself and his friend a private workshop. Since my calendar production was planned for the beginning of March and he asked for dates in the end of February, I decided to put these two events together.

I told Hans (the dutch client) that after the end of the workshop I will contiue with my own calendar and exhibition production and if he and his friend like, they can join my crew. They were very enthusistic about this idea, so we have been a sort of team for two weeks.

I must say, in the beginning, I tried to be just very polite with the new client, but later on, during the workshop and calendar photosessions we had  become friends and  had so much fun together and helped each other a lot. I had  instructed Hans and Joe during the workshop, and  they learned pretty fast and photos they took could be published in any  major magazine in the world. On the other hand, they both helped me a lot during the  shooting of my exhibition, when they joined my assistants and help us with technical support.

As for the workshop – we were busy with shooting three models. Because Hans booked a private workshop, there was enormous time for him and his friend to shoot  under all possible lighting situations. Five days in a row, they were shooting photos from sunrise till sunset. Mostly we took breaks during the  afternoons, when it was too hot and the light is not the best. We took advantage  of my photostudio, which is situated in the mayan jungle, very close to all the beautiful surrounding, perfect for shooting. There are  many  wild beaches  without people.

Bioreservation Sian Kaa´n showed up to be a paradise for our photosessiones. I had  to laugh how Joe was always competing with Hans (who was  the more experienced photographer from the begining) who will take a better picture during certain situations. Joe was a lot of times very lucky, when shooting in the sea and the  waves made his pictures awsome. Hans obviosly paid more attention to composition and good light from the beginning. Our models, obviusly enjoyed the photosessions as well. I have  never seen them to work so hard:o) it was maybe due to Hans´s tips:o)
